GBR99: Open-Cockpit Dieselpunk Flying Machine

A hand-drawn dieselpunk chibi illustration of a very early British flying machine: an open frame of timber and girders, a riveted tin engine up front, a huge wooden propeller and a pilot in leather helmet, goggles and sheepskin, grinning like a man who has not read the manual.

This is the Orville and Wilbur end of the hangar. The pilot sits out in the breeze working two red-topped levers, with an RAF roundel and the code GBR99 painted on the side, the number 46 on a fabric tail and a fin flash for good measure. The front wheel wears a bright red mudguard, the sort of weight-saving part that may well have come off a Raleigh Chopper, circa 1977.

It is British, so it is probably named after a lawnmower.
